The Miami Design District mixes architecture, luxury showrooms, design stores and public art on landscaped, pedestrian-friendly streets just north of Midtown.
What it's like to live here
The retail core is polished and walkable, and the residential pockets around it are quieter and smaller in scale than Edgewater's towers. Rental inventory is limited, which is part of why the area's new branded condo projects are getting attention.
It's a good fit if you want a calmer home base with Midtown and the bay a few minutes away.
Getting around
Driving: Right off I-195, so Miami Beach is about 10 minutes away.
On foot: Walkable to Midtown; Biscayne Blvd and the bay are a short walk east.
Transit: Biscayne Blvd and NE 2nd Ave bus routes.
