Neighborhoods
North of Downtown, block by block
Edgewater
Edgewater is the bayfront strip between Biscayne Boulevard and Biscayne Bay, running roughly from the Venetian Causeway up to the Julia Tuttle. It's where most of NoDo's newest high-rises are going up, and where you'll find the most water views per dollar north of downtown.
Midtown
Midtown is a compact, walkable grid between Wynwood and the Design District, built around shops and restaurants at street level with apartments above. It's where I've spent most of my time in Miami, and in my opinion it's the easiest place in the city to live without needing your car every day.
Wynwood
Wynwood is Miami's murals district: former warehouses covered in street art, now mixed in with restaurants, breweries, galleries and a fast-growing set of boutique mid-rise apartment buildings.
Design District
The Miami Design District mixes architecture, luxury showrooms, design stores and public art on landscaped, pedestrian-friendly streets just north of Midtown.
Buena Vista/MiMo
Buena Vista and the MiMo (Miami Modern) stretch of Biscayne Boulevard sit just north of the Design District, with historic homes, tree-lined streets and preserved mid-century architecture.
